چکیده
(2007) Mapping meiotic single-strand dna reveals a new landscape of DNA double-strand breaks in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. PLoS Biol 5(12): e324. Two figure legends refer to the wrong strain of yeast. In Figure 2, the second sentence of (B) should say: Spo11 enrichment ratios for rad50S (MJL2404) were determined from input samples and immunoprecipitates (ChIP). In Figure 3, the first sentence should say: In each plot, normalized, unsmoothed array signals (average of two experiments) are as follows: orange, Spo11 ChIP from rad50S (MJL2404); blue, BND cellulose-enriched ssDNA from dmc1Δ (MJL3095); red, BND cellulose-enriched ssDNA from spo11Y135F dmc1Δ (MJL 3096). Mapping Meiotic Single-Strand DNA Reveals a New Landscape of DNA Double-Strand Breaks in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs), which are formed by the Spo11 protein, initiate meiotic recombination. Previous DSB-mapping studies have used rad50S or sae2Delta mutants, which are defective in break processing, to accumulate Spo11-linked DSBs, and report large (> or = 50 kb) "DSB-hot" regions that are separated by "DSB-cold" domains of similar size. Substantial recombination occurs in some DS...

In the budding yeast of Saccharomyces cerevisiae the tandem repeated of rDNA genes are located onchromosome XII, which is in the nucleolus. There are different types of proteins in the nucleoluskeleton, silencing proteins have got important role in nucleolus. It is shown that meiotic recombination between nonsister chromatids in the rDNA genes are stronglysuppressed, and s...

The ionizing radiations, through physical and chemical processes, lead to simple and complex single- and double- strand breaks, as well as base lesions to the DNA. In this study, taking into account all the physical and chemical processes involved in the interaction of ionizing radiation with matter, the initial damage induced to DNA was evaluated for 5.7 MeV alpha-rays from Radon 223 isotope....
متن کاملExo1 roles for repair of DNA double-strand breaks and meiotic crossing over in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
The MRE11, RAD50, and XRS2 genes of Saccharomyces cerevisiae are involved in the repair of DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) produced by ionizing radiation and by radiomimetic chemicals such as methyl methanesulfonate (MMS). In these mutants, single-strand DNA degradation in a 5' to 3' direction from DSB ends is reduced. Multiple copies of the EXO1 gene, encoding a 5' to 3' double-strand DNA exon...

Radiotherapy using various beams is one of the methods for treating cancer, Hadrons used to treat cancers that are near critical organs. The most important part of the cell that is damage by ionizing radiation is DNA. In this study, damages induced in the genetic material of living cells (DNA) defined by the atomic model from the protein data bank (PDB) have been studied by radiati...
